Safety rules
Mountain Bike | Basic safety rules for mountain and road cycling*
 Seek a safe route
Choose the most suitable routes for the time available, your physical ability and the technical skill. When cycling in the mountains, be respectful oof the environment.

 When you cycle on roads
Circulate with caution and respect the traffic regulations. Always use the right hand lane closest to the pavement whenever you can, and in any case cycle as far as possible to the right of the lane, especially in the evening or in urban agglomerations.
When you circulate in a group, always leave a safe distance with other vehicles or cyclists. In the event of works on the road or animals crossing, raise your arm on the side where you see the danger.

 Before manoeuvring
Before stopping or braking sharply, make sure you can do so without risk and signal suitably. When overtaking or changing direction, do so progressively and safely, indicating beforehand and making sure you have been seen. At traffic lights or compulsory stops, the first in the row will have to give the signal, the rest pass the message and stop in single file. To turn left, indicate with your left hand and move to the left of the lane.

 Be seen at night
It is very important at night or in little light, to have approved reflecting elements on the bicycle and you should be wearing some article of reflective clothing.

 Choose the right bicycle
It should adapt to your technical skills and body size.

Keep the bicycle in a good state
Before leaving, check the tyres, the brakes and the lights of the bicycle, and have regular mechanical servicesdone.

 For your tranquillity
Contract civil liability insurance. Have the emergency service telephone number noted down.

 We recommend
You should wear a helmet, very useful in falls. Moreover the Traffic Law obliges bicycle riders and passengers to wear a helmet on interurban roads. True safety, however, is based on moderating the speed and respecting all road and mountain users.
